Kernisan Saint Fort was born on May 16, 1938. He grew up in Leogane with 7 brothers and sisters. Kernisan was raised by his older brother (deceased) Antoine Alexandre. He was married to the love of his life, Yolande Charles (deceased) for 43 years and from this union, 4 children were produced; Marie Marthe (deceased), Deneche (decease), Guirlande Bayol, and Margaret Saint Fort. Kernisan worked as a fisherman and a farmer and in 1974, he came to the United States and lived in Belle Glade working as a farmer. He later brought his wife and 3 children to the United States to live and proudly spoke of his children and his grandchildren all the time. He lived with his daughter Guirlande for 20 years.

Kernisan was a quiet, loving, respectful man and his memory will live in the hearts of his loved ones for years to come. Left to cherish his memory is one brother: Dieudone Saint Fort in Brooklyn, New York, Two daughters: Guirlande and Margaret(Fenol). One son: Jordany. Five grandchildren: Mitchell, Sidney, Jaden, Myrsha, Jordana. Sisters in law: Yoleine, Gerda, and Mimose Saint Fort, One brother in law: Somner Saint Fort. Nephew and Neices: Carmelite, Marie Carmelle, Paul, Camy, Lola, Antoine, Gabrielle, Elta, Sonia, Jean Raynols ,Maxo, Tony, Kepler, Lerin,Belange midline, Spencer, Daniel, Larack, Guirlaine, Elourdes in Canada, Marie Danielle, and a host of other family and friends.
